Juniors Program
Kids from 7 - 12 will meet Mondays & Wednesdays from 8:30 am- noon pm and will build the Bevins Skiff and several pair of oars. Working with trained wood workers and volunteers these kids will learn the parts of the boat and how to safely use the various hand tools required to complete construction. At the end of each class, students take 15 minutes to write in their own journals what they learned that day and what activities they enjoyed most. Included in the program will be field trips to local boat yards; a walking tour of the woods identifying specific species of trees used in boat building and why they are used and several other activities.
The program runs from July 5th thru August 18th ending with the Pirate Gala. This is a party that takes place on Saturday, August 21st from 3 - 6pm and will include the boat launch, silent auction and the boat raffle.
Tuition is $90.00/wk payable in advance.
Transportation from Northeast Harbor & Southwest Harbor will be available.
